The Diversity and First Gen Office was created in April 2011 with two mandates:
- support students, particularly those who are the first in their families to attend a 4-year University and/or from less privileged backgrounds. Our goal is to help them thrive at Stanford.
- leadership for campus diversity programs, pilots and initiatives. We deliver results through pluralistic perspectives for multiple identities, safe spaces for difficult conversations, and uncovering and engaging the shades of grey.
We uncover needs in our community, and engage partners in creating or highlighting solutions. We offer direct support to students and offer training and awareness to our campus partners.
