Kelly directs the Education Partnerships division, which includes the Haas Center's five mentoring/tutoring programs, and the staff that direct each of those programs. Kelly is also directly responsible for the day-to-day operation of one of those programs, Science in Service.
Kelly earned a BA from Vassar College in astronomy and physics, and an
MS at the University of Wyoming in physics and education. Her interests
and professional experiences have evolved over the span of her career
from physics education, integrated science instruction,
science-for-all, informal science education, civic education for
science students, to education program management. She is currently interested in educational equity from cradle to college.
In her free time, Kelly volunteers at the Exploratorium, climbs, hikes, and gets into nature whenever possible. She is an amateur chef and devoted baseball fan. She says, "My favorite free time activity is a good meal and good
conversation shared with family or friends, many of whom are my Haas
Center colleagues."
