Schwab Learning Center

The Schwab Learning Center (SLC) was established in 2001 through endowed funding by Charles and Helen Schwab. The SLC offers students with learning disabilities and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder a wide array of state-of-the-art services and resources to enrich the learning and research opportunities at Stanford.

New Students - Getting Started

If you have not registered or received accommodations from the Office of Accessible Education, you must first verify your eligibility as a student with a disability. This requires obtaining professional documentation of the disability and meeting with a Disability Adviser or Learning Specialist for an intake interview.

Faculty & Teaching Staff

Ensuring access and providing reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities is a shared responsibility.  Students, faculty, and the staff of the Office of Accessible Education work collaboratively to meet Stanford's obligations to provide equal access to educational opportunities.

Presentations & Publications

Office of Accessible Education staff present at conferences and publish articles with topics ranging from assistive technology to universal design to (more generally) accommodations for students with disabilities.

The Office of Accessible Education offers a variety of accommodations for undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities.  Accommodations are determined and provided based upon the student's disability and the academic requirements of the school or program.
