Resident Assistants Class: EDUC 192X
All first year Resident Assistants are required to enroll in, and pass, EDUC 192X - Interpersonal Learning & Leadership, commonly referred to as the RA Class - this includes students studying abroad Spring Quarter. Returning RAs may enroll in the course, but are not required to.
Course Summary: Interpersonal Learning & Leadership explores research on college student development, leadership, and the complex dynamics of a changing society. Through self-examination and reflection, interpersonal engagement, analysis, synthesis, and practice students will build skills and awareness in the areas of listening, questioning, reflection, risk taking, facilitation, conflict mediation, decision-making, and group leadership. Students will explore how individuals within a community can, together, form and grow intellectually and interpersonally, within a University and greater societal context.
Credits: 2 units
Class Size: 10 - 16 students
Which Section do I sign-up for?: While the syllabus is the same for all sections, we strongly encourage you to sign-up for a section lead by an instructor who works directly with the house type you will be a team member in during the 2014-2015 academic year (i.e. Row, 4-Class, Frosh, Upperclassman). Instructor briefs and section times will be added slightly before registration beings for Spring Quarter, so please check back.
