What’s Happened

All University Theme Houses (UTHs) have an application and review process. This fall, the Committee on Residential Learning (CoRL), made up of faculty, staff, and students, has reviewed applications for UTH-As.  There were 11 applications and 9 approved for 2022-23.

The UTH-As for next year will be:

  • At Home Abroad
  • Equity, Access, and Society Theme (EAST)
  • Explore Energy
  • Humanities House
  • ITALIC
  • Outdoor House
  • Public Service and Civic Engagement
  • Structured Liberal Education (SLE)
  • The Well House

UTH-As have a 50% pre-assignment occupancy requirement for 2022-23 that will build to a 100% occupancy requirement by 2025-2026. Seven of the nine houses met the requirement. Of the two houses that did not, Equity, Access, and Society  (EAST) made the decision to be discontinued this year. At Home Abroad will be a theme house for 2022-2023 and then will be discontinued as a UTH-A.
