Thursday, March 8, 2018 -
4:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Women's Community Center

Ted Koppel was the host of ABC News Nightline from 1980 until his

retirement in 2005. Over the course of his 50-year career as a journalist,

Koppel covered JFK’s funeral, the civil rights march from Selma to

Montgomery, and Nixon’s 1968 presidential campaign. Koppel was with

Mikhail Gorbachev inside the Kremlin the day the Soviet Union fell, and

was the first journalist to interview Nelson Mandela at home upon his

release from 27 years in prison. Now Koppel remains a prominent voice in

the media world, and is the Haas Center's 2018 Mimi and Peter E. Haas

Distinguished Visitor.
