Started in a Yale dorm room, Helena seeks to bring together some of the world’s most remarkable people and work alongside them to materialize ideas that build a better tomorrow. Helena operates projects around the world that focus on addressing issues of global importance and creating innovations that yield significant positive impact. Stanford faculty are involved in a number of Helena's initiatives. Current projects include:
- Factory in the Sky – development and construction of the world's first carbon capture factory
- The Shield Project – protecting the electrical grid from threats both foreign and domestic
