What is The Flourish?

Life on the Farm can be overwhelming. With jam-packed days and a slew of events and opportunities constantly flooding your inbox, keeping track of the things that matter most can be challenging. Taking care of your health and well-being oftentimes gets pushed to the back burner. The Flourish is here to help you stay up-to-date with the latest wellness tips, advice from well-being staff, programs, groups, and workshops, resources available to you, and all things to help you flourish on the Farm!

The Flourish is an online publication on mental health and well-being through Student Affairs that promotes wellness resources through bi-weekly emails and monthly publications. As mental health and well-being interns with The Flourish, we help students stay informed about various on-campus events, promote self-care practices, and share well-being tips through personally curating and writing most of our articles! We aim to create content pertinent to life as a Stanford student in hopes of helping you flourish both as a student and as a person. Join us as we learn to flourish together this year!

Meet The Flourish Team

Chase

I am a senior studying English and Psychology, and I am passionate about creating children’s media which can strengthen the next generation’s emotional literacy skills. On campus, I flourish by managing the women’s basketball team, writing for fun, playing board games, shooting hoops, and listening to music. Being an intern at The Flourish allows me to make a tangible impact on the Stanford community. It has helped me become more vulnerable and open to sharing my own struggles with others in hopes of increasing awareness.

Chavi

I’m a junior studying International Relations with an interest in human rights/international law. The Flourish gives me an outlet to show others the resources I wish I had known, as someone who continues to struggle with depression/anxiety/OCD. Being biracial and first-gen/low-income, I am proud to represent my background while acknowledging our struggle for representation and equity. I also love to read, the color pink, and Moo Deng the baby hippo.

Cherrial

I am a senior studying Psychology, and my biggest passions are mental health and wellness! I’ve struggled with depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation/attempts, but was very fortunate to find the right tools and support to find healing thanks to the Inspiring Children Foundation. Now I am extremely passionate about sharing that healing with others on campus! The Flourish has provided me the space and community to help pursue that passion, and I am so grateful.

Jaden

The Flourish allows me to serve and support a stronger sense of community on the Stanford campus. It is truly a win-win situation, as I get to promote a positive message among my peers while also enhancing my intrinsic feelings of compassion. I am a co-term on the wrestling team here at Stanford, and in my free time, I like to read, meditate, and surf!
