Flourish Together

Spring quarter at Stanford is in full swing! Flowers are blossoming, friendships are blooming, and best of all, the sun is shining. Hopefully you’ve been able to spend some time outside and bask in all that is spring quarter on the Farm. If you’re looking for a fun event on your calendar, plan to attend our Flourishing @ Stanford event on May 7 at White Plaza! In this edition, we are focusing on the details of our upcoming event, the plethora of mental health resources on campus, as well as how to flourish during periods of stress and uncertainty. Even if you’re currently flourishing, we hope that you can take a few minutes to reflect on your personal well-being and wellness practices.

In Focus

Flourishing in Friendship

Anxiety and self-doubt can arise in friendships, even when nothing seems wrong on the surface. Let’s explore the importance of open communication, expressing personal needs, and approaching difficult conversations with vulnerability. Not all friendships are meant to last forever. Self-growth can help us build emotional resilience- ultimately, offering guidance on nurturing meaningful connections while also strengthening one’s relationship with oneself.

How is Life Tree(ting) You?

Mental Health & Wellness Communities at Stanford

Seeking community to support you in your mental health and well-being journey? Look no further. Stanford has a plethora of organizations aiming to create communities where students feel seen, heard, embraced, and supported. You don’t have to do it alone, and you aren’t doing it alone. As someone who personally struggled with loneliness throughout my time at Stanford, I decided to seek out the community I was looking for and found so many beautiful places along the way.

Featured Student Story

Life After College

School often serves as the predominant structure in our lives. It gives us a menu of choices- classes, dorms, extracurriculars- but we’re not alone in that experience. We have a cohort of other people making the same choices at the same time. For me, there was comfort in that kind of parallelism.

Tip of the Month

How to De-Stress Spring

Being a student is undoubtedly stressful at times. Before we continue with another problem set, pat yourself on the back for making it through last quarter (and this one so far!). Looking back, are there some ways you could have performed better, not academically, but personally? Maybe you did not get enough sleep and relied too much on Celsius energy drinks, or maybe you noticed yourself struggling mentally. Regardless, it is okay- breathe! Now, let’s explore some ways we can help manage our stress- some of them you can even do en route to class.

Flourishing During Times of Uncertainty

Uncertainty is the one constant in life we can all count on. Whether it’s shifting relationships, a schedule we just can’t seem to make work, global events, or a personal challenge, uncertainty has a way of shaking us to our core. The truth: some of the most profound growth and transformation happen precisely in these moments of instability. Flourishing during times of uncertainty isn’t about avoiding discomfort–it’s about learning to embrace the unknown and finding strength, clarity, and purpose despite it.

Color Outside the Lines: How Stanford is Prescribing Art for the Soul

What if your next wellness prescription wasn’t a pill, but a paintbrush, a dance class, or a museum visit? Stanford’s “Arts Prescribing Program” is redefining what it means to care for all aspects of the student. By connecting creativity with well-being, the program invites students to pause, play, and reconnect with themselves and their community. Also be on the lookout for our very own Flourish Stories, now featured in your newest art prescription.
