How does mental health impact flourishing?
Mental health plays a significant role in flourishing as it may affect how we think, feel, and behave across multiple aspects of our lives–our well-being, relationships, sense of purpose, physical health, academics, etc. When our mental health is in good shape, we are more likely to experience a sense of well-being, fulfillment, and overall life satisfaction = flourishing.
How can we create a supportive Stanford community that values mental health and well-being?
By flourishing together! Flourish Together came to fruition as our Flourishing Team (Student Affairs, University Communications, The Flourish, and VPSA Mental Health and Well-Being Interns) thought of ways we could increase mental health awareness and promote flourishing on Stanford’s campus. We wanted to contribute to the ongoing journey to destigmatize mental health/mental illness, and do that through a lens of hope, healing, resilience, and community.
Let’s Flourish Together this May!
Join us in our movement to promote mental health awareness and foster a culture of well-being at Stanford University. Through storytelling and collective impact, we aim to raise awareness about mental health, reduce the stigma, share support, and create a campus environment where everyone can thrive.
Get Involved with Flourish Together!
Come Flourish Together with us this May as we celebrate a month-long series of events and publications to raise awareness about mental health, reduce stigma, and share support hosted by Student Affairs and University Communications.
Remember, flourishing is a journey that unfolds over time, and it's okay to take the time you need to feel truly vibrant in every aspect of your life. Be gentle with yourself and cultivate self-compassion along the way. Like a flower, you will grow and blossom into your most flourishing self.
