Discover Wellness Beyond the Classroom
Stanford Living Education (SLED) invites you to explore learning that goes beyond the traditional classroom, supporting your mental health, personal growth, and journey to becoming a more whole person. Through three unique programs and prefixes- Wellness, LEAD, and LifeWorks- SLED offers courses designed to enhance your well-being and help you thrive in all areas of life. Courses are offered as 1-3 units and are the perfect options if you’re looking to add some nourishment to your life.
Having taken over seven SLED courses across various programs, I can confidently say these classes have profoundly impacted my life- not just academically, but holistically. What sets SLED apart is the sense of community it fosters among like-minded Stanford students who are eager to grow beyond academics and nurture their whole selves. For me, SLED embodies the belief that as we cultivate a more complete and wise version of ourselves, success in academics, relationships, and even our professional pursuits naturally follows. One standout aspect of these courses is the focus on practical, life-enriching skills. For example, learning to meditate- a practice I continue daily- has brought immense benefits to my overall well-being and daily life. I wholeheartedly encourage every Stanford student to explore these courses and use them to craft a Stanford experience adventuring beyond academics, fostering personal growth and a richer, more fulfilling life.
