ICIL brings your Stanford experience to life beyond the classroom—connecting you to communities, opportunities, traditions, and co-curricular experiences that foster belonging, exploration, joy, and wellbeing. Through the Office of Student Engagement, Career Education, the Centers for Equity, Community, and Leadership, Fraternity and Sorority Life, and the Office for Military-Affiliated Communities, ICIL helps you build relationships, develop leadership skills, and connect your learning to the world around you.

This involves extensive engagement with the alumni, faculty, and staff of Stanford’s diverse communities, organizations and networks. The unit also facilitates care for student communities on campus, proactively fostering positive, inclusive community development and facilitating problem-solving when complex community issues emerge.

The Office of Military-Affiliated Communities (OMAC) at Stanford is a division under the Vice Provost of Student Affairs (VPSA) dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for military-affiliated members of our community and allies. Our goal is to offer support, resources, and advocacy to address the unique needs and challenges faced by U.S. and international military-affiliated students.

Meet Samuel Santos

Samuel Santos, EdD, was appointed Associate Vice Provost for Inclusion, Community, and Integrative Learning in 2022. In this role, he leads initiatives to promote belonging and exploration among students.
